My husband and I watch the show all the time and he came to the realization that it was time for us to do something so he went out and purchased this book, 30-Day Jump Start. We were so excited read through it and went shopping and went shopping and went shopping (purchased food scale and regular scale)also. Truthfully we found ourselves spending more money to purchase food that was being used once or twice a week, more so the vegetables, which tend to waste faster. With one income it is a financial hardship to spend this much money and continue to prepare the foods shown in the book. In addition, it shows 1500 calories per day and doesn't show calories per meal and with other weight loss books it breaks it down per meal. Example: On page 79 day 4, lunch, it doesn't specify how many calories for that one lunch, it only specifies 1500 calories for that day. In addition, like snacks, for instance the raspberry smoothie, page 70, doesn't indicate how many calories are in this snack in case to substitute for a different snack. I'm a diabetic and my meal chart breaks down meals and calories and substitutes if needed. This would have been helpful in your book. The foods that we did prepare were tasty and my kids liked them also but again financially too much money spent. We are now trying to figure out how to substitute certain products for each meal that are affordable for us. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this book is due to the money spent purchasing all products and ingredients needed for meals, now if my friends and family could afford it than, yes it would be a great start for them.
