Jack's Egg Chair

The Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen & Fritz Hansen was designed in 1958. The egg chair was developed for the lobby and reception areas at the royal hotel in Copenhagen. This technologically innovative lounge chair originated from a plaster cast Jacobsen developed in his own garage. Now, the synthetic shell is padded with cold foam and covered with fabric or leather. Other materials include a star-shaped aluminium base with a satin polished steel pedestal which both swivels and tilts. Optional automatic swivel return and matching ottoman are also available. In every sense of the word, the egg chair is a true classic. All leather is the finest quality danish hereford hide. Choose from dark natural, red, tan, black-brown, or black. A version called 'natural' leather is also available for an additional charge. This extra-fine leather is smooth surfaced light-colored leather which will darken with age. Color swatches are approximations, color may vary. Free shipping in the continental United States.
